A virtual walk about Mary Seacole, Jamaican born Crimean War nurse and her connection to the South London boroughs of Southwark and Lambeth
Carole Wright leads you on a virtual Mary Seacole walk covering personal, political and social history from Southwark though to Lambeth featuring places significant to this Jamaican Icon Mary Seacole (1805 – 1881) a British-Jamaican nurse, healer and businesswoman who set up the “British Hotel” behind the lines during the Crimean War.

Mary Seacole was posthumously awarded the Jamaican Order of Merit in 1991. In 2004 she was voted the greatest Black Briton.
