Products selected by Tamara Monika Kovnay

From the 17th – 22nd March Chelsea Harbour Design Centre hosted London Design Week 2013. Showcasing new ranges from over 500 international brands at 98 Design Centre showrooms. During the week we asked  Interior Designer Tamara Monika Kovnay to visit the event and select a pick some of the best designs.

Tamara Monika Kovnay is a Creative Director and Founder of Sybaris Interiors,  a multi-disciplinary international furniture and interior design practice.

Having juggled her career in project management in Investment Banking with property development for many years,  Tamara finally gave in to her passion for interiors and in 2008 left the City for good. After studying Interior and Spatial design at the Chelsea College of Art,  she went on to work for a noted designer,  Elaine Williams of Interior Couture,  after which she set up her own practice in West London. With a diverse portfolio of high-end residential and hospitality projects stretching from UK to Asia under her belt,  Tamara is now developing a collection of bespoke furniture, lighting and accessories for her online showroom of luxury homewares, launching later this year.

In her work Tamara draws a lot of inspiration from fashion, movies, and travels, mixing new and old, sleek and opulent to a dramatic yet somehow chilled out effect. Her designs tend to be quite bold, daring and eclectic, yet interiors she creates evoke elegance, luxury and comfort.

This Spring the design world has once again bowed in front of the greatest creator, mother nature. Unique textures, hues and organic shapes found in rocks, stones and mountain crystals, have been captured in anything from fabrics, wallcoverings to furniture, rugs, lighting and accessories, in a way so subtle, nature could have designed them herself.
