Celebrating all that is Art Deco, the Art Deco Weekend occurs annually in the quirky yet elegant historic district of Florida’s Miami Beach. 2012 marks the event’s 35th year, and like others, kicks off with the Light Up the Drive parade, which leads along Miami’s legendary Ocean Drive. The Art Deco Weekend is a real celebration of past and present and unsurprisingly attracts locals and tourists with around 500, 000 visitors each year. Indeed, once the Weekend is in full swing, visitors are spoilt for choice with access to films, lectures, concerts and arts and crafts activities, alongside guided tours of the area.
